Altered Book Project!x

In this project we have, Cut out loads of pages from our books and created our sea creature within the book. My sea creature is a star fish. I Began To cut the pages of the book in a star fish shape. The artist of the work that we have been focusing on is called Su Blackwell she is famous mostly for her book cutting art. The link between my work and Su Blackwells Work is that we are both focusing on cutting art out of books. This Is a example of her work on the picture on the right! To cut out of my book io used a craft knife which is incredibly sharp and cuts through many pages at once. In thios art project three techniques i used are cutting with a craft knife, I also used brusho which is a type of paint and when using the brusho we were blending, The last technique that i used was oragami. In this project i have give my self an 8!

Echer Tessellation!!!!!

Last week we learnt about Tessellations.
This can be described as patterns.
We searched on the internet to find an artist who used this in their work.
I looked at an artist called Escher.
In my opinion his work was good.
We then made the 'Verity's Kite'. We made this using origami.
This required careful instructions so that the angles were correct.
Adding all the angles of the kite together=360 degrees.
If made correctly the kites fit together without any gaps to make a Tessellation
